What we mean by a cookie#
"Cookie" here covers cookies and the equivalent browser storage technologies — anything this site can leave on your device and read back later. What matters is not the technical name but the effect: it lets the site recognise the same browser on a later page or a later visit.
Your choice comes first#
Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is stored before you decide. When you first arrive you are asked, and until you answer, no identifier is written and no measurement is sent. Declining is a real option that costs you nothing: every part of this site works either way.
Strictly necessary storage#
We store your cookie decision itself, so that we do not ask you again on every page. It records only what you chose and when. This one cannot be switched off, because switching it off would mean forgetting your answer and asking you again immediately.
Analytics, only with your permission#
If you accept analytics, this site stores a random identifier in your browser and records:
- which pages you open on this site, and in what order;
- the page or search engine you arrived from;
- your country, derived from your connection;
- whether you are on a phone, a tablet or a desktop computer.
That is the complete list. The identifier is a random string. It is not linked to your name, your email address or anything you have sent us through a form, and it is not shared with anyone else.
What this site does not do#
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No tracking of what you do on other websites.
- No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
- No fingerprinting techniques designed to identify you without storage.
Changing your mind#
Use the cookie settings control on this site to change your choice whenever you want. Withdrawing consent removes the identifier and stops any further measurement immediately. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, which removes everything this site has stored, including your recorded choice — so you will be asked again on your next visit.
